Common-Sense Regulation

As a member of the CUNA Board, I am proud to share recent successes achieved through CUNA's advocacy efforts, such as the movement of S.2155 through the Senate.

S. 2155 is a key platform of the Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation. The bill passed the Senate with wide bipartisan support and with the backing of the CUNA/League system.

S. 2155 will protect seniors from elder abuse, make mortgage processing easier and quicker, increase affordable rental housing in our communities, and help your credit union provide better service to your members.

Credit Union Brand Message

CUNA has been working for several years to design a brand campaign to educate consumers about what a credit union is and what it does. The campaign needed to address three components in particular: awareness, understanding and inspiration.

Extensive research revealed that most consumers did not believe they could join a credit union, and because they saw credit unions as "local only" they did not think they could access their money away from home.

The brand campaign, unveiled at the 2018 GAC Conference, attacks these myths with innovative messaging and creative material to educate consumers and encourage them to "Open Their Eyes" to the possibilities of entrusting their financial services to a credit union.

It is my hope that credit unions around the country will speak life to the message that there's a credit union for everyone!
